Anthem Rotary Club donated funds to the Black Canyon Heritage Park for the enhancement of the park's picnic area. This newly updated section of the park was dedicated as the Rotary Club of Anthem Picnic Area. The park's management acquired new picnic benches and a kiosk through the club's financial support.
Designed for conservation and education, Black Canyon Heritage Park provides visitors with a chance to experience nature and culture in a friendly, nurturing environment. In this 30-acre riparian park, visitors can enjoy birding, butterfly and other environmental experiences in a family friendly, nurturing setting. Whether it's going back into history, biking, hiking, vacationing, or learning about area's riparian ecosystem, Black Canyon Heritage Park provides a peaceful and natural setting just a few minutes away from Anthem.
On Saturday, August 27th, our club members were invited to attend the dedication of the picnic area. We met for an 8am breakfast at the historic Rock Springs Cafe and then went to Black Canyon Heritage Park. There we viewed the park's exhibits and took a stroll around the pond. We took this group photo in front of the Anthem Rotary Picnic Area, which was refreshed and updated through our club's donation.
