District Governor VisitRotary District 6000 Governor Alka Khanolkar joined us to discuss Rotary and our District. Alka has really taken the goals of Rotary International and applied those to her tenure as District Governor. We discussed: the Impact of Rotary and the “Each one, bring one” motto, how to Expand our Reach, Engage in Service and Leadership, and the Adaptability and Flexibility of Rotary clubs to our new normal. She states that environmental projects (such as planting trees, litter clean up, etc), literacy projects, and promoting the education and health of young girls are among her favorite causes that Rotary supports. The club was also awarded a banner for 100% member participation in giving to the Rotary Foundation. Our Club’s donations to the Foundation make their way back to the district and into our community through grant projects (such as Canteen Alley, Wilson School Playground, Bridge View Center steps, etc). |
