All the information you need to know for N.Scott Rotary Auction, Nov. 17th at the SAU Rogalski Center at 5:30pm:

- Check-in: Carolyn and her team will have check in packets ready for you. If any member of your party has to "pay at the door" it will be on their check out receipt (this is only if they didn't pay online or a member is not going to be assessed for the cost of their ticket). ALL guests will check in by their last name regardless of sponsor tickets or sitting at a table of 10. There will be pre-printed name tags for everyone. If there is a spelling issue, there will be blank name tags to get it corrected. Programs will be given at check-in. You will be assigned a bid number at check in as well.

- Table Assignments: You will have a table assignment when you check in. The committee has spent a lot of time accommodating table assignments. St. Ambrose is setting the room up based on the table layout given to them.

“PLEASE a favor and sit at the table you are assigned to. Every table will have a visible number on it. This helps us and St. Ambrose to be able to get your dinners to you, especially if you have special orders for allergies”

- Dress Code: There isn't a dress code, common attire is business casual/business professional. Use your best judgment. The room is set up in a similar manner to a corporate event or a wedding.

- Parking: is available in the Rogalski Center parking lot. The students and faculty are on Thanksgiving break so it should be fairly empty. The lot will say "Faculty Parking Only" or "Student Parking Only" - those signs do not apply to Friday night's event.

- Directions: If you are travelling south on Harrison Street, Turn Right (west) on Lombard, turn left (south) on Ripley, parking will be to your right (west). The Rogalski Center has a green octagonal roof. Since students will be gone, go where the cars are

- Do you need cash? There is a cash bar for drinks other than the provided beer, wine, and soft drinks, they only accept cash at the bars. There are 2 events during the night that cash is necessary if you elect to participate, otherwise every item (silent or live), all of the other games/raffles, etc are handled at check out. If you forget cash, there is an ATM on the ground floor of the Rogalski Center.

- Do you pay by check or credit card? You will have the option at check out to pay by cash, check or credit card. We do not encourage you one way or another, BUT, keep in mind, the club is charged a service fee for every credit card transaction we have. We do not have a service fee for payments made by cash or check. The lower our credit card fees, the more money the club gets to use for projects, grants, etc. The credit card fees add up pretty quickly. Keep this in mind, but you can pay by either option.
- Do you get a receipt? You will get a receipt when you check out.

Check out Procedure
Every silent auction item has a two page carbon copy bidding sheet to go with it. All silent auction bids are recorded on this. When the silent auction tables close a member of the auction committee will circle the winning bid and remove the top (white) page to hand it to the cashier table. The bottom (yellow) page will remain on the table. You will be able to see if you won an item based on that. However, the item cannot be removed until you check out.

The raffles and other events you may partake in, including "Pay at the Door" tickets will also be on your final check out sheet. If you partake in a game or other event, the person running that event will ask you for your bid number. They will take that info to the check out table for you so you don't have to.

The live auction item winners are recorded as an item is auctioned off. Tom Messer will enter the info in the computer program and the cashier's table will receive that information immediately.

Check out opens when the live auction starts. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, the check out table will not be open until then.

A change this year: after you check out and get your receipt, you will take that receipt to the auction committee members at the silent auction tables. They will retrieve your items for you. Items will not be able to be retrieved until check out has occurred.

Rotary Youth Exchange
District 6000 Inbound and Outbound Youth 2015-16

This was our annual support of District 6000’s Youth Exchange
32 inbound, outbound and Rotex Youth gathered at the Steeplegate Inn for a weekend of interaction, fun, games, and training.
As in the past we visited the Mississippi River front, and viewed the
Eagles by Arsenal Island.  We then visited the John Deere Pavilion to introduce these students to one of the major industries in this area.
In the evening we went ice skating at the “Rivers Edge”.

Mark and David Mattke, sons of Keith Mattke, each said a few words on behalf of there father, whose funeral was Wednesday, August 19.
David brought to the club an assortment of Rotary items that Keith had kept over the years.    They are both aware of how much Rotary meant to Keith, and the group friendship he enjoyed at the weekly meetings. Keith had 26 years of perfect attendance at North Scott Rotary and was a member of Davenport Rotary previous to that, with 50 years total membership. He also was a multiple Paul Harris Fellow.
