Program for Today: Bill Decker introduced the speakers: Shane Williams, district director of elementary education and innovation; Jame Hayes, West Middle School Visual Arts; Kyle Sustich, Franklin 3rd grade teacher; and Scott Comstock.

Shane spoke about the shift in education that challenges assumptions about how students learn. We need to work towards personalization and choice allowing children to help choose a path and have access to learning real time 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There is hope to have funding so that many students in Muscatine will be able to have a macbook available to them to enhance learning.

Jame shared that his visual arts class over the past several years have been working on stop motion technology. He shared videos that the students have produced and the through process behind the learning.

Kyle's 3rd grade class have the advantage of having 1 to 1 use of macbooks. He shared several presentations that the kids have made keeping learning educational, new, and fun. This provides a competitive advantage for the future.
