Recap of the April 22, 2019 Meeting: 
Visitors:  Frank Iliff brought visitors - Deb, his wife. And granddaughters Lexi and Jaiden Stuart.  Roger Lande was a visitor as well.
 
Happy NewsHarvey Allbee let us know that after the 11:00 service at Wesley Methodist Church this coming Sunday - they will be unloading the new pipe organ!!  Hope Robbins was happy tax season is over. And her mother turned 80 on Saturday and all of Hope's siblings flew in for it and they got to have Easter together.  Jim Nepple and his wife went to Houston, TX to watch their grandson's Lego team competition.  Noami DeWinter let us know that the Rotary committee has started going through the scholarship applications.  Cristian Lopez said 60 kids attended the Salvation Army Easter egg hunt last weekend.  He also invited us to the Muscatine Salvation Army Annual Dinner and Kid Zone Day Camp Fundraiser at Geneva Country Club on May 17, 2019.  Larry Hetzler reminded us of the 'Wandering Words' contest. 
 
Other announcements:  Mike Hagerty reminded  all of us that today is Earth Day.  He shared some facts with us:  It takes almost 1 gallon of water to make a 1 liter plastic bottle. Humans use 101 gallons of water a day between eating and cleaning.  Mike also shared some facts about bees with us.  Mike Ruby provided us with more information about the Muscatine Salvation Army Annual Dinner.  The Dinner helps to fund many programs including Kids Zone Summer Day Camp.  The camp runs 10 weeks, 8 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Approximately 60 kids attend the camp,  the kids receive 450 hours of programs through the Salvation Army during the camp. 
 
Program:  Our program was Rebuilding Together Muscatine County presented by Frank Iliff.  Motto:  "It just needs done."  Frank shared a video with us highlighting what Rebuilding Together Muscatine County does and sharing stories of people they have helped.  "Do what it takes to keep people in their homes and give them pride."   Since 2008 - They have done over 100 projects in Muscatine County at no cost to the recipients.  "See a need and try to help fill it."  Year to date they have completed 5 ramps at homes with 4 more in the works.  Funding is a challenge, they rely on donations, United Way, Muscatine Charities and Community Foundation have helped.  They rely on volunteers to help with the labor.  Thank you Frank.
