Recap from September 24, 2018 Club Meeting:
Guests:  Ali Rauchwarter - grand daughter of Marv Krieger.  Susan Payne - guest of Bobbie Holliday.  Jim Hayes - guest of Mary Odell.  Hope Robins - guest of Jim Nepple. 
 
Rotary Moment:  Rick Gosney shared a rotary moment from an article he read on the internet.  The article was written by a Rotary International Director from Istanbul, Turkey.  It was about a woman named Amenes.  She had no arms below the elbow and she was taught how to read and write.  It was very inspiring. 
 
Happy News:  Sal LoBianco was happy the Muskies won the homecoming game.  He also thanked Judd and Laura Anderson for coming today.  Holly Thomas - Koehler reminded us of the Unity Point school contest and the Report Out event.  Marv Krieger thanked everyone for supporting the reunion meeting. He was happy with the turnout.  Cristian Lopez celebrated his wedding anniversary with his wife, they went to Costa Rica - he is happy to be a citizen of the United States.  Alan Ostergren announced that Korey Shippee from his office will be a judge.  Jessica Wittman was happy that Tiger Woods won the weekends PGA tournament.  Mike Ruby spent the last 3 weeks on a cruise of the North Sea.  He is happy to be home.  Mike Frye was pleased that is daughter and grand daughter ran in the Quad City marathon. 
 
Club Business:  Shane Orr reminded us to sign up to have your dues paid through ACH.  And also reminded everyone that the October 22 meeting will be off site if anyone would like to host. 
 
Program:  Our program was the Muscatine High School Swim Coach - Judd Anderson.  Judd has been the swim coach since 1964 at MHS.  He is in the Quad Cities Sports Hall of Fame and the Iowa Sports Hall of Fame.  When he first started there were not any sports for girls at the high school.  The first girls swim meet took place in 1967.  In 1971 the girls set a relay record.  He has coached 650 girls since he started.  In the last 20 years there have been over 20 Division one athletes that were on his swim team.   Currently there are 5 girls from Muscatine that are on college swim teams.  7 boys from the high school football team are also on the swim team.  There are 30 girls on today's swim team.  Judd's daughter is the assistant swim coach at the high school.  Judd Anderson was presented with an Honorary Paul Harris.  Thank you Judd.
