Club Business:  Kim Warren - our Treasurer - now has ACH forms to set up auto pay for club dues through 1st National.    Shane Orr - President - announced that October 22, 2018 will be an offsite meeting for Rotary and asked if  any members would volunteer to host.  Contact John Kuhl if you are interested in hosting the club meeting that day.  Shane also reminded us to fill out the Rotary survey if we have not already done so.

Program:  Our program was a video on the Dollywood Foundation for Imagination Library.  The video stressed the development of the brain from birth to age 5.  85% of personality and intellect is formed by age 5.  Having exposure to books increases the IQ of children, they are more likely to attend college, earn more income, home ownership and tax revenue.  Our brains stop growing at age 25.  Imagination Library is investing in our children.  A child enrolled in Imagination Library receives one book a month from birth to the age of 5.  The books are chosen by a panel of experts.  All money goes to books, it is simple and inexpensive.  Share Orr added that there are 1300 children enrolled in Imagination Library in Muscatine County.  This represents 47% of children age 0 - 5 in the county.  Shane would like to see our club have 4 sponsorships per member - this would be at a cost of about $100 per member.

Next Meeting is September 17, 2018 at the Rendezvous.
