PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Welcome to April and the beginnings of spring.
We started our annual support of the Blood Donor Clinics in March. Thanks to all that gave blood. One of our newer members, Steve, joined Rotarian Michael to support Canadian Blood Services. (Thanks Steve for getting involved so quickly.)
After starting in March, our plans are set to support the expansion of the Shepherd’s Cupboard Senior's Market, adding another stop this month. (There is a great need in our community, please donate as you can to the Shepherd’s Cupboard).
Our planning continues for the EDC/Shelburne Rotary Golf Tournament on June 6. This year we are raising funds in support of providing parks and recreation features in the community.
We had some interesting speakers in March, with more arranged for this month. See the list above and join us for a meeting.
I want to recognize Earth Day on April 22 and Rotarian Caroline Mach. (Read more about Caroline's role protecting our environment below.) Thank you Caroline for all you do as Forest Manager and as a Rotarian.
I also want to welcome our newest member who joined us in March, Evelyne Karanu. Evelyne is new to town, but wanted to get involved and contribute to the town she has chosen as her new home.

We Heard About and supported CDDHS Special olympics and athletic programs
At our March 28 meeting, we heard from Kaitlyn Stoddart, a CDDHS Alumni who is organizing a golf fundraiser tournament to raise funds for the CDDHS Special Olympics and athletic programs.
After Kaitlyn's presentation, Rotary members voted to provide financial support to the golf fundraiser.
Shelburne Rotary celebrates Earth Day on April 22nd, and celebrates the role that Caroline plays in managing the Dufferin County Forest for an array of values; ecological, economic, and social.
We also celebrate her contribution as a Past President of Shelburne Rotary and current Publicity Director.
Thank you Caroline for all of your contributions to Rotary over the years.

One of the world’s most widely printed and quoted statements of business ethics is The Four-Way Test, which was created in 1932 by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor,when he took charge of a bankruptcy company.
This 24-word test for employees to follow in their business and professional lives.
The survival of the company was credited to this simple philosophy.
Adopted by Rotary in 1943, The Four-Way Test has been translated into more than a hundred languages and published in thousands of ways.
