With the arena urgently in need of repairs, winning Kraft Hockeyville 2025 would provide $250,000 for arena upgrades and the opportunity to host an NHL preseason game, ensuring that future generations can continue to experience the magic of hockey right here in Honeywood.
Members of Shelburne Rotary will be in Honeywood on April 4 at between 11:00 am and noon to vote and encourage others to vote. Come out and say hello, and VOTE!
Shelburne Tim Horton's 2025 Smile Cookie Campaign will once again support the Rotary Club of Shelburne's local charitable causes. A huge thank you to John and the staff at the Tim Horton’s Shelburne locations!
The campaign runs from April 28 to May 4.

The Rotary Club of Shelburne is proud to sponsor the youth award for the Museum of Dufferin's (MoD's) juried photography exhibit Life in the Country.
The winner of the award was Eyes of the Forest by Gabby De Vuono-Fraser (@gabbydevuonofraser_photos).
"Every few years, a family of owls settles in the trees in my backyard for the summer before flying away. They always keep their distance, but we keep our eye on them.
One day they were perched in the trees like usual, although this time they were closer to the ground in open and low areas. I went out with my camera and took what has become one of my favourite pictures."
As Shelburne Rotary once again gets involved with Youth Exchange, how nice is it to be doing so, while celebrating Rotary's 50 years of involvement.
For 50 years, Rotary has enabled students to experience new cultures, develop lasting friendships, and become global citizens.
We’re grateful for the dedication of the Rotary members and host families who make the program possible.
Since 2018, on average, Rotary has sent and hosted 7,500 exchange students each year. It takes 25,000 volunteers to make it happen.
When we discuss Rotary Youth Exchange, we often think only about the students’ experience, but both their home and their host communities are also enriched by an exchange.
Connections and understanding are built between cultures. And the massive effort volunteers have made through the decades is part of what we celebrate this year.

Our outbound Youth Exchange student's (Mike) mom (pictured) bumped into Rotary President Bill in Florida. She said Mike is excited about heading off to France and has been practicing his French.
Pratheeb Uthayakumar is a lawyer based in Shelburne, as well as a realtor with Sutton Group - Summit Realty Inc. Pratheeb has been successfully operating in both fields since 2017.
In December of 2023, Pratheeb and his family made the decision to move to Shelburne, and they have since fallen in love with the town. Having become a father earlier that year, Pratheeb felt an even stronger desire to engage with and give back to the community. Shelburne is not just the place where he and his wife now live, but it is also the place where their son will grow up, and that deepened his sense of responsibility to contribute to the area.
Through his involvement with Shelburne Rotary, Pratheeb has discovered the true value of community engagement. Initially unfamiliar with Rotary, he was fortunate to meet several individuals from the town who introduced him to the organization’s mission and its vital role in the community. Inspired by Rotary’s dedication to both local and global service, he joined and has since been an enthusiastic advocate for others to get involved.
He believes that by working together, the community can make a meaningful impact, and he is eager to connect with others who share his passion for service and positive change.
Through his work with Rotary, Pratheeb is not only growing personally and professionally but also contributing to causes that make a real difference in the lives of those around him.
Thank you Pratheeb for not only joining, but being an active and contributing member of the club.

On April 22, Shelburne Rotary will be celebrating its 87th year anniversary.
On April 22, 1938 Shelburne Rotary was established. Once a professional men's-only club, we are now open to everyone that wants to make a difference in their community and the world.
