PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Between our service projects and fundraisers it has been a successful 2024.
The year concluded, with a successful Nutcracker Gala, and the Gift Basket and Greenery Sales.
And thanks to great community support and the support of other service clubs, the Christmas Hamper Program delivered food and toys to those in need.
Now on to 2025!
Our Club starts back up on January 9 after our holiday break. We will start the year with several guest speakers and also start our discussions and planning of our service projects and fundraisers for 2025.
Watch this newsletter, our website, our Facebook and Instagram, and our new road signs for more information as it becomes available.

Meet the 15 members of Shelburne Rotary that make a real difference to their community by fullfiling the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self”.
Shelburne Rotary recognized John Lewandowski of Tim Horton’s Shelburne for his support of Shelburne Rotary through the Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Campaign. John received the Paul Harris Award, Rotary’s highest recognition. John’s support has allowed Shelburne Rotary to support local organizations and causes including the Backpack Program, Splash Pad Enhancements, Shelburne Hamper Program and Shelburne Food Bank.

community heroes awarded
At its annual Holiday Party, Shelburne Rotary recognized two people with a Community Hero Award.
Kayleigh French (pictured at left with Rotarian Bobbi), a local high school student, is a hero for all her work over the past four years with Rotary’s fall food drive, the Food Bank Rescue Van campaign and most significantly with the Shelburne Christmas Hampers.
Leonard Guchardi was also a recipient for his work on many Rotary projects such as Bands and Brews, Pumpkinfest, BackPack Project, Hamper Program and the Nutcracker Gala. (Len was unable to attend our dinner).
Our community is better for the efforts of these two community minded people!
Shelburne Hamper Assistance Program
A bigthank you to all the Shelburne Service Clubs and other volunteers who donated their time to pack and distribute over 230 Christmas Hampers.
This could not be achieved without the support of all the people and companies in this community who donated money and food.
Lots of treats, fresh fruits and vegetables and other groceries filled the hamper boxes along with a gift card for a choice of meat. The nearly 200 children registered very much appreciate the donations of toys to make their holidays a little brighter.

After a hiatus of some years, Shelburne Rotary was happy to participate at this year's Shelburne BIA Santa Claus Parade on December 7.
As we enjoyed handing out candy to the children (and some adults!) along the parade route, we were also able to collect some much needed groceries for the Shelburne Food Bank.
Thanks to those who were able to give.

With the help of our Rotary District, Shelburne Rotary has new road signs.
Keep an eye out for the new entrance signs into Shelburne coming from the north on Highway 10 (near Fiddle Park Lane) and from the east on Highway 89 (at the previous LCBO location).
We will be posting our coming events as soon as dates are confirmed!

At the Shelburne Rotary Holiday Party on December 12, Rotary presented the Shelburne Food Bank with the proceeds of the Nutcracker Gala for the Cargo Van Campaign.
This cheque of $11,500, plus our previous cheque for $20,000, helped the Food Bank achieve its goal.

Shelburne Rotary Annual Meeting
As per our Shelburne Rotary By-laws, Shelburne Rotary nominated and vote for next year's (2025-2026) Executive Committee at our November 28th Annual Meeting.
Many Rotarians are staying in their current roles, providing continuity.
However, we will be under the leadership of a new President, Karen Webster. We thank Karen for taking on this leadership role, and she can count on the entire Executive Committee and Club for support.
