On February 20, we heard from Katy Herron of Community Crew. Community Crew served over 170,000 nutritious school lunches to food insecure students in the Niagara Region during the 2023-2024 school year. An amazing organization that started as an idea just ten years ago.
They demonstrate, like Shelburne Rotary, like Soup For You, like the Shelburne Food Bank, like all the other amazing organizations, what people can do working together.

After moving to Mulmur in 1978, Sandra commuted to Guelph and then Newmarket for a few years before opening a travel agency in Shelburne and Alliston. And subsequently in Orangeville.
Owning a business in Shelburne gave Sandra the opportunity to meet a lot of people and as a business owner she wanted to get involved in the local community.
She had the opportunity to get to know members of Shelburne Rotary, as she assisted in supporting and sponsoring some events, including donating a trip for our raffle each year. (Sandra's support of Shelburne Rotary while owning and managing her travel business on Main Street, was greatly appreciated.)
In 2007, Sandra was approached to join Rotary, and since she had just sold her business, and her children were grown up, she felt it was the right time to take on a new challenge.
Sandra has served as Rotary President, is currently the Club Treasurer, and was Rotary’s Fundraising Chair for the Shelburne Rotary Splashpad.
While Sandra has enjoyed Rotary and finds it very fulfilling being able to give so much back locally and internationally, Shelburne Rotary feels very fortunate to have Sandra as a member.
