Fall Greetings!
As October arrives and the colours of fall begin to paint our community, we are reminded that every season brings new opportunities to grow, connect, and serve. Fall teaches us that change can be beautiful. As the leaves transform and prepare for the months ahead, we too can embrace new opportunities, new friendships, and new ways to make a difference in our community.
Rotary is built on the belief that small acts of service, when combined with the efforts of many, create meaningful change. Whether you volunteer at an event, support a fundraiser, attend a meeting, or simply lend a helping hand, every contribution matters.
September Recap
One of the highlights of the month was welcoming our outbound Rotary Exchange Student, Mike Niedzwiecki, who shared a presentation about his year abroad in France. Mike provided members with a firsthand look at the cultural experiences, friendships, travel opportunities, and personal growth that resulted from his exchange. His presentation was both informative and inspiring, reminding us of the incredible impact of Rotary's Youth Exchange Program and the lasting connections it creates around the world. We thank Mike for sharing his experiences and for representing Shelburne Rotary so well during his exchange year.
September also saw the club host a Rotary Open House, inviting members of the community to learn more about Rotary and the work we do locally and internationally. It was a wonderful opportunity to share our mission of Service Above Self, connect with prospective members, and showcase the many ways Rotary contributes to making Shelburne a stronger community. We appreciate everyone who attended, asked questions, and explored how they can get involved.
Looking Ahead to October
October is an exciting and busy one for the Shelburne Rotary Club. On Saturday, October 3, we will once again partner with Centre Dufferin District High School for our Annual Food Drive. The generosity of our community never ceases to amaze us, and we are grateful for every donation that helps support local families in need.
Also on October 3, we invite everyone to join us for our annual PumpkinFest. This community favourite brings together families, friends, and neighbours for a day of fun, fellowship, and fall festivities. We look forward to seeing everyone enjoy the activities, entertainment, food, and community spirit that make PumpkinFest such a special community event.
Later in the month, we are excited to participate in the Service Club Dinner on October 18. This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the collective impact of the service clubs in our community and to recognize the volunteers who work tirelessly to make Shelburne a better place to live, work, and grow.
In Closing
As we gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving season, let us take a moment to reflect on the many things for which we are grateful. Most importantly, let us be thankful for a community that continually demonstrates compassion, generosity, and a willingness to support one another.
