Mark Osmundson, Mike Schlesinger, and Mike Tupper presented Crime Stopper information at the August 1st Rotary meeting, telling club members about the local group, their successful anonymous tip program, and their next project which is to install safety cameras throughout the community.  Modeled after a similar program in Dubuque, the initial infrastructure and cameras will cost $60,000.  The City of Marshalltown and the Marshall County Sheriff's office will each contribute $20,000, leaving $20,000 to be funded by community members.  At the end of their presentation, three checks ($1000 from Marshalltown Rotary, $1000 from Alliant Energy, and $2000 from Lennox Industries) were given to Chief Tupper, and Osmundson announced an additional $1000 anonymous gift.  Members who wish to contribute individually can do so online at www.marshallcountycs.com or by mailing a check to Marshall County Crime Stoppers, 112 W. Church Street, Marshalltown, Iowa 50158.  Nine of the twelve Crime Stoppers directors are Rotarians.  Joel Greer, Tami Lichtenberg, Carol Hibbs, Ellen Bergman, Todd Steinkamp, Miguel Gutierrez, and Larry Raymon serve on the board with Osmundson, Schlesinger, and Tupper.
