The Robotics Alpha Dogs club of Humberview High School in Bolton focuses on designing, constructing, programming and operating robots. In the competitions, they face off against other robots in teams of three. The Alpha Dogs, the school’s newly formed robotics club, has taken the high school robotics world by storm. The team finished sixth out of 32 teams – the highest ranking for a first year team – and won an award for “Ingenuity” and Rookie All Stars at a tournament. They will be demonstrating some of their achievement.

We teach very poor mothers how to read and write in their local language, we teach them English (necessary for economic advancement) and teach them math and social studies. A man diagnosed with PTSD after serving as a juror in a gruesome murder trial in Toronto wants officials to provide help to those suffering after doing their civic duty. "I'm not the same person I am coming out of that trial as I was going in," said Mark Farrant. Mark will be our guest speaker. He spent five months as a juror at the 2014 trial in Toronto of Farshad Badakhshan, who was convicted of murdering his 23-year-old girlfriend, Carina Petrache. Mark now advocates for mental health services for jurors. |
