Melissa Clarke-Wharff, Founder/President, Courage League Sports was our program today.  The Johnston Rotary Club had the opportunity to both have breakfast at the facility and hear from Melissa about Courage League Sports, their work and all the good things that they do for those kids and adults that can use their assistance.  There are over 52,000 special needs adults and children in the greater Des Moines Metro that may benefit from all the good work that occurs here in the Urbandale facility, along with another similar operation in Ankeny.

Courage League Sports is a non-profit adaptive sports and recreational facility that offers year-round programming for children and adults who aren’t able to go full speed due to a physical, cognitive or emotional disability. By adapting the pace, equipment, or nature of an activity, Courage League can provide a safe and accessible environment where participants can go at their own speed.
