Rtn. Dimi Doresca announced that mentors are needed for the Mandela Fellows who will be arriving Wednesday, June 20.
PROGRAM: President Mike McKay introduced the program speaker, Mary Mosiman, Iowa State Auditor. Mary explained that the State Auditor’s Office is the government financial watchdog for the state. Her office performs the audits of all state government departments and local governments. The Performance and Investigation Division is the most exciting part of her office. It performs the audits of state departments, responds to legislative requests for evaluations, conducts re-audits and petition audits, and investigates fraud in state and local governments. Every elected official is responsible for financial oversight, so her office does trainings with elected officials across the state. She ended by stating, “In God we trust. Everyone else we audit.” After audience questions President McKay thanked Mary for her educational presentation. The meeting ended at 1:00 pm as President Mike led the assembly in reciting The Four Way Test. |
