Rotary clubs inform Town Council of successful war staged against polio
The Town of Orangeville Council passed a motion on Sep 24, 2018 that encouraged all citizens to observe October 24, 2018 as World Polio Day in the Town of Orangeville, and to recognize the many volunteers who vaccinate children as well as those organizations working to end polio. The Proclamation was signed by Deputy Mayor Warren Maycock, and witnessed by David Proctor, President of the Rotary Club of Orangeville, and Lynda Moore, President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Orangeville-Highlands. What a wonderful evening! At 18 years of age, Bianka (right, middle), came to Canada as a Rotary exchange student from her home in Germany. Last Tuesday, August 21, she reconnected with her hosts, Rotary Club of Orangeville Highlands, reflected on her “adventure of a lifetime” and how it changed the direction of her life. It was fantastic to talk to her all these years later and hear about her life. Joining her at Forage for dinner was Cathy Campbell, Cynthia Rayburn, Anne Bathurst, Jeff Bathurst and Margorie Grime.
