If you are interested in becoming a member of the Rotary Club of Des Moines, please contact the Rotary Office

Arrangements will be made for you to be our guest at lunch.  After visiting the club at lunch, if you would like to continue the application process, a current Rotarian will submit a "Membership Proposal Form" to the Board of Directors proposing you for membership to the Rotary Club of Des Moines.  The Rotarian who begins this process becomes your "Sponsor." As the Board meets once a month, please expect some down time during this part of the process.

Following the board approval of your application, your name  will be printed in our E-bulletin for a ten day wait period. During this time, our Club bylaws allow for written objections from the membership.

After the expiration of ten days, if the number of Qualifying Objections received is less than 20% of the Eligible Voting Members, you shall be considered duly elected to membership .

At this time, you will be invoiced our $285 Induction Fee.  The Rotary office will forward the appropriate forms so you can be entered into our club database.  Please submit this information along with a professional-quality picture (electronically, if possible) to the Rotary office.

Plan to attend the next scheduled New Member Induction Meeting with your Sponsor.  These meetings are typically held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 11:00 am, prior to the Rotary lunch.  At this meeting, you will receive a member packet, instructions to log into our website, a member roster and your name badge.

As soon as scheduling allows, you will be introduced to the Club by our Club president during lunch.  Your fellow Rotarians would like the opportunity to welcome you to the Rotary Club of Des Moines.
Please note that you are welcome to attend our Thursday lunches while your application is in process.  Please pick up a name tag at the guest registration table as you enter.  If you would like to be introduced as a guest, please fill out the guest form.  You do not need to pay for your lunch each time, you will be billed prorated dues to cover this cost.
