Our featured Fuel Injector is: Matt Busick Matt is managing director and founder of River Glen Wealth Counselors ("RGWC"), a Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) registered investment adviser that offers comprehensive financial planning services to families and businesses nationwide. He has a strong reputation for his experiences and skills as a financial planner, an investment advisor, and an investment fund manager. In addition to leading the day to day operations of RGWC, Matt serves as managing member of RGPC Investors LLC, a pooled investment vehicle that makes venture debt and equity investments on behalf of the LLCs' members in various start-up and entrepreneurial ventures. Before founding RGWC in 2008, for nearly fifteen years Matt served clients as a registered representative with various securities firms including American Express Financial Advisors, Inc. ("American Express"). While with American Express, Matt was awarded, for 10 consecutive years (1995-2005), the President's Recognition for Quality Advice, the firm's highest distinction for financial planning quality. Matt earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Social Policy from Northwestern University, and a MBA in finance from the University of Iowa. He serves as a director on the boards of Corvida Medical, New Tech Ceramics, and The Rotary Club of Des Moines. Outside work Matt volunteers as a member of the Rotary Youth Exchange Committee for The Rotary Club of Des Moines, and contributes in a variety of ways to St. John’s Lutheran Church. Matt and his wife Betsy, who both grew up in northeastern Iowa, have two children and live in Des Moines. Matt has a great Rotary story and life story to share. Please plan to attend! |

Dave Busiek served 30 years as news director of KCCI-TV, the ratings leader in Des Moines. Dave led a staff of 60 journalists focused on gathering, writing, producing and presenting news, weather, traffic and sports. KCCI provided news for 33 hours a week on television, plus instant updates on the web, mobile apps, Facebook, Twitter and other digital outlets in a competitive, rapidly-changing media environment. Dave has interviewed thousands of job applicants over the years, hired hundreds of people, and managed through numerous crises including three ownership changes, the Great Recession, and just about every conceivable human relations nightmare. He’s learned many lessons about hiring, motivation, personnel conflicts, employee feedback, helping people achieve their goals, research, strategy and communications. Prior to his career in management, Dave was a reporter and anchor for 12 years in both radio and television. He’s been a national leader of the Radio-Television Digital News Association. He loves to talk and coach about managing people, solving problems, career advancement and ethical leadership. |
