We have been considering a project on eliminating cervical cancer in New York. In this connection, the Rotary Club of Birmingham, Alabama, launched “Operation Wipe Out Cervical Cancer Alabama” on May 8, 2023.
We have invited Dr. Isabel Scarinci, PhD, MPH, member of the Rotary Club of Birmingham, Alabama, who is spearheading this project and was also involved in the Srilankan project for this purpose, to make the presentation at our club meeting on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at 4 p.m. by zoom.
Dr. Scarinci is Professor, Vice-Chair for Global and Rural Health, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Interim Associate Director for Community Outreach and Engagement, and Senior Advisor for Globalization and Cancer, O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, at University of Alabama at Birmingham.
