FACE TO FACE SOCIAL GATHERING - Wed Sept 2 from 3 to 5 p.m.

As you may remember, a couple of meetings ago someone raised the question about meeting face to face and we have considered the possibility of meeting outdoors. The consensus was to have a social gathering separate from our regular weekly meeting.  Claire graciously offered her backyard and she estimates that she can accommodate around 30 people seated at a distance of 2 m, or more if there are couples.

The social gathering will take place on Wednesday September 2nd, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Claire's address is 1480 Seagram, Oakville.

Meeting outdoors, significantly reduces the probability of anybody inhaling virus particles that may be in the air (aerosols). In order to make it safe for everybody, the rules of engagement are as follows:

1) every body will bring their drink and folding chair, so nothing is passed around
2) everybody will bring a mask and will bring their hand sanitizer
3) masks will be worn every time someone is talking to another person and/or closer than 2 m.
4) Masks may only be removed when we sit to have a drink and we are 2m or more far apart from others

Remember that the virus does not enter through skin; it has to make its way to the respiratory tract. So, when touching any surface make sure that you do not touch your face, and you wash or sanitize your hands. Virus particles disperse outdoors, so it is much safer to meet outdoors than in closed spaces. It is safe to talk to someone outdoors keeping the distance, without a mask.

Please RSVP to Liliana or Claire by Monday August 31st.

Thank you and stay safe
Liliana
