The Oakville Family Drive-Thru Ribfest scheduled for June 18-20, 2021, will be postponed until the late summer of 2021 due to the current health and safety environment. In early July we will announce a decision on the date.

The postponement of the Drive-Thru Ribfest will have a negative impact on the club's fundraising efforts. Club rules state that we only spend the monies raised in the previous fiscal year. The postponement means that monies that would have been raised by fiscal year end 2021 (June 30) will now be included in fiscal 2022 (July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022). We are hopeful that a festival can occur in late summer but a number of factors need to come together including:
- easing of current COVID protocols
- our hosting partner, Sheridan, granting access to their property
- Ribbers being available
The steering committee will reconvene on June 14 to assess the situation at that time. In the interim, the steering committee will continue to monitor the situation closely, with the safety and welfare of the community as our top priority. Club members will be kept informed.
