Update on Resuming In-Person Lunch Meetings
I know that many of you are anxious to resume In-person lunch meetings and I too wish that we were able to do that. However, there are several issues that are impacting the timing.
We have been working with the new owners of Le Dome, now called Oakville Legacy Banquet Hall, for several months and they still have not submitted a price, menu or minimum numbers required despite several follow-up calls. We are also looking at other options but have not found a location that meets all of our needs for holding regular lunches there.
The committee continues to work on this. If you have any comments or suggestions regarding this issue, please feel free to contact anyone on the Board who can forward it to the Committee for consideration. The Board will be discussing this at each Board meeting until we have a viable solution.
In the interim, we are trying to hold one social meeting each month to allow members to meet in person. In July we met at Boston Pizza and in August we had the event at Ken Coulter's house. On Sept 8th, we will have a bring your own lunch meeting at the Erchless Estate at the end of Navy St. It will be followed by a tour of the Oakville Museum which is located at the Erchless Estate.
