Camp Enterprise
FROM APRIL 14TH TO APRIL 17TH, THE ROTARY CLUBS OF OAKVILLE AND BURLINGTON WILL BE HOSTING 54 STUDENTS FROM HALTON SCHOOLS AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS AT THEIR ANNUAL CAMP ENTERPRISE.
Camp Enterprise provides senior high school students with an introduction to professional, business owner and management careers, through 3 ½ days of exposure to the private enterprise system, the art of negotiation skills, insights into business concepts and the opportunity to have face-to-face discussions with business leaders.
The objective of the Camp Enterprise programme is:
To expose, to explore, to challenge, to arouse interest and to spur the students imagination on
the whole subject of business and private enterprise.
It is an extensive three ½ day camp offering students the opportunity to participate in leadership activities focusing on the Free Enterprise System. The Camp Enterprise program includes inspirational speakers, panel discussions, workshops, creativity sessions, business games, presentation skills, introduction to the professions and career opportunities facing young people, and team-building events.
The adult participants who run the proceedings for the 3½ days are all Rotary Club member volunteers. Many of the motivational experts, self-awareness coaches, key speakers, and invited professionals are from outside the Rotary organization, but all participate on a voluntary, unpaid basis.
Camp Enterprise is held at the Creiff Conference Centre in Flamborough.
The Rotary Clubs of Burlington-Oakville Camp Enterprise has provided high school students with unique experiences in teambuilding, leadership, business principles and dealing with the challenges of life and business.
One of the many highlights of 2011 Camp Enterprise will be the presentation of a Paul Harris Award to Sunny Daljit to recognize his over decade long volunteer participation at Camp Enterprise as its primary keynote speaker and for his willingness to mentor students long after the camp has ended via e-mail and social media.
Sunny Daljit is a management consultant, spiritualist, coach and real estate broker. He earned an MBA from Queen’s University School of Business and has over 25 years of successful business experience. At the age of 18 he entered the real estate brokerage industry with Canada Trust and become one of their top realtors in the country – by the time he left selling real estate at the age of 24 he had sold over $100 million worth of real estate. In a quest for greater meaning and purpose in his life, Sunny moved to India and spent three years as a student, teacher and eventual monk under the guidance of several spiritual leaders. He donated most of his material wealth to charity and a village development in India which continues to provide water, housing and education to several hundred families every year.
Upon his return to Canada, he founded Center Path Inc., a company specializing in developing spirit and values in the workplace. Since 2004, Sunny has been the CEO of Keller Williams Ottawa Realty, Ottawa’s largest real estate brokerage company where he has built the company to 245 realtors and 30 staff with revenues growing at rate of 56.6% over the past four years. In 2006, Sunny was a recipient of the Top Forty Under Forty Award by the Ottawa Business Community.
