"Champions for Children" is our motto and early childhood literacy is a high priority for our club. At our April 11, 2018, meeting, club members applied labels to many of the over 2,000 children's books we donate each year.
As a Lead Sponsor of the Story County Reach Out and Read program, we provide all the books given by doctors to children at their 6-month well child checkup. We also purchase a collection of attractive new books so that every child attending our Step into Storybooks event can choose a book to take home and enjoy. Finally, we provide extra books to agencies serving vulnerable families, such as the Women, Infants and Children Clinic, Salvation Army, Primary Healthcare, and the Raising Readers in Story County Gift Books program.
