- Second announcement of the scholarship/campership allocation; in accordance with the policy passed regarding expenditures over $2,500, President Bryant announced that the proposal is $22,500 be allocated to scholarships (college and vocational) and $5,000 be allocated to camperships. We will vote next week.
- Dave Stack announced that this was the last day to file to run for an office in the Town of Bow.
- President Bryant reminded Donna Deos that she has the program next week, and Robert Louf is the Greeter.
Sergeant at Arms: Ben Kiniry Logo Fines: Jon Ruggles Happy Bucks: - Ben had to fine himself for a whine (something about his trousers), being late, and flagging the wrong Jeannie for a birthday.
- Steve DeStefano was happy that his daughter survived a ride-along with the Manchester police.
- Judy Goodnow (like a broken record) still happy with a visit from her granddaughter.
- Dean Cascadden: fully clothed in Patriot gear, was happy about the impending induction into the Hall of Fame for some Bow basketballers, and commented that he is no longer lonely. “Somewhere in the house” he has a new cat (courtesy of Bob Couch) and a 26 year old millennial, safely returned from India.
- Bob Couch: happy that he and his wife are going skiing today, first time this year.
- Harry Judd: missed some meetings, and his own birthday announcement. His children are doing well (we won’t specify the order) and he is pleased that Mary Beth continues to put up with his jokes, and has done for 42 years. His grandson, currently in Dubai, will be re-patriating.
- Tamar Roberts: successfully conquered the “Winter Warrior Challenge” from Runner’s Alley. She is very thankful that the month of January is over!
- Peter Imse: his son-in-law got a new job with the Cincinnati Bengals; very happy that the Bengals will be playing the Patriots next year.
- Dave Gazaway: echoed Dean’s happiness about the Hall of Fame ceremony and pitched for attendance at the game of future hall of famers, playing this afternoon at 3:30 pm. Happy that Dave Stack reminded him about opportunity to run for town office, but is pleased with those who have already declared as candidates.
- Jon Ruggles: an inspiring story about his son, who is the first graduate of the Drug Court program in Merrimack County. 1 ½ years of hard work and commitment. Jon is justifiably proud of the turnaround.
Raffle Winner: Judy Goodnow (she drew for Steve DeStefano last week. This week she drew for herself, and STILL didn’t find the joker) Program: Club Visioning Jeannie Richards spoke on behalf of the Club’s Visioning Committee. Last fall we completed some cards indicating our “passions”. This step is the second part of the process. Club members were broken up into small groups of 4 or 5, and asked to complete some additional questions: - What do we do well and should keep doing?
- What can we improve on?
- What should we not do?
- What should we add?
We completed the questions individually, and then as a group. Then we shared the responses with the Club. The responses were fairly similar, but some ideas generated instant buzz: having an annual dinner with all of the community groups in Bow/Dunbarton, possibility of a spring carnival.
Respectfully Submitted, Judy Goodnow |
