Announcements:
- Dick Swett recommends Abigail Adams video to everyone
- David Scanlan described the many ways the State is celebration the nation’s 250th, and the opportunities and resources that are available to the public.
- Dick reminded all of the Concert Series dates, and David Farr said he would circulate a sign-up sheet on-line.
- Dick announced that Chase Hageman is going through the new member process.
- Dick also reminded everyone to pay their annual dues by the end of the month.

Program:
Changing of the Gavel Ceremony
President Dick reflected on the lessons learned from his parents, and the example his father, also a Rotarian, set for him. He joined Rotary and agreed to be President to serve, and thanked the Club and the Board for their support in helping him do that. He reflected on his goals as President and how the Club met and exceeded virtually all of them. He reviewed all of our accomplishments during his year as President and called out a few Club members and Rotarians who especially touched him during his time in office. He closed with the story that sums up what Rotary is all about. A Rabbi was asked “How do you tell when night turns to day?”. After much discussion among his students and many proffered answers, the Rabbi replied “When you look at the face of any man or woman and see your brother or sister.”
Dick then passed the gavel to Tanya after which she presented Dick with a new name badge, a past president’s pin and a plaque before sharing her own brief remarks. She is honored to be our incoming President, and thanked her new Board for being willing to serve with and support her. She also thanked the Club for its past and expected future support and reminded all of us to keep having fun while we go about our Rotary business.
President Tanya closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
