President Gerry opened the meeting at 07:30 and greeter Linda shared some inspiration.

Announcements:
- Linda Bliss: Recognition Night – doing additional calls for submissions so they can make final selections. They appreciate the number that have come in so far.
- Jerry Kingwill: Roadside pick up is scheduled for 4/19. Meeting at 8 am at the end of 89. Question was asked about non-Rotarians volunteering (adults). They can participate but safety paperwork needs to be completed.
- Matt Gatzke: Attire – Membership Committee put together some items. The Bow Roary store will be available next week – a link will be shared via club runner and the website. Some of the sample items were modeled by Rotarians – cap, visor, winter hat, fleece ear warmer, full zip sweatshirt, button up shirt, Rotary at Work neon t-shirt…You can order online and have shipped or pick up in Bedford. Each Bow Rotarian will be provided $20 to make a purchase. The hope is to make a decision in the first few weeks so we can do a larger order to help the provider.
- Phil Nadeau (visiting Rotarian): Semi-Annual Cornhole Tournament – 1st one was in Nov of last year and it went well; can’t do the car show date – looking for a date after May 17th a weekday evening (M-F) 6-9 pm. Host at a restaurant; need 4 members from a club to participate. Each club will put up $300 dollars, the prize money is given to the winning club to donate to the charity of their choice. Additionally, the sunrise club is doing a fundraiser where you can win a $400 gift certificate to a spa day at a spa in Concord.
- Gerry Carrier: Rotary Park – Rock delivered to Peterborough, hope that it will be done early May.
- Matt Dodge: Vision Committee – meeting next week to review doc and begin to look at 5 year plan
- Interact Students: Just did the Way Point Sleep out which raised $200 to help prevent and end teen homelessness; they will be doing Easter Egging again this year; In May they will volunteer at NH Foodbank and will participate in the Interact Conference
- Dave Farr: Concert Committee – Peter worked on getting all acts booked and contracts created. Now the committee will be focused on raising money.
- Katie Minihan: 1st grade readers – this will take place on Friday May 9th after Rotary. Next week signup sheet will be brought to Rotary – we need 5 readers for Bow and 2 readers for Dunbarton.
- Pres Gerry: Next Week Greeter will be Melissa and Judy Goodnow has the Program.

- Bob Couch: Leaves in a week for NC to see family (will take the RV); will stop to see Bill & Diane McGonagle – Bill was a former club member and club secretary.
- Ken Moulton: Back from a wonderful week in Tucson.
- Dick Bean: Took Princess Cruise Line to Ft. Lauderdale with his wife.
- Mike Gula: was not a great week with the market and taxes, but saw kids selling lemonade outside (and helped them think through a quality control method for their lemonade sizes) which melted away the bad things going on. Son is doing a bodybuilding competition in Portland; tomorrow doing a ½ marathon with his daughter in Gloucester.
- Ben Kiniry – will be biking today in the great weather. Colleague and he have been talking for 4 years about a Christian legal service for people who need an attorney and can’t afford. Met with a pastor around space, advertising… - looks like this is a go.
Program:
Matt Gatzke introduced Chief Dennis Comeau with the Bow Fire Department. Chief Comeau started his career in Gilmanton, moved to Laconia and has been with the Bow Fire Department since 2019, last year being named Chief. He is married with 2 daughters and enjoys golf & hockey.
Chief Comeau joined us to talk about our AED units – they are in all public town buildings, including the schools, in Bow. They are also in all fire and police vehicles.
When you encounter an unresponsive person – call 911. Check for a pulse and for breathing.
The AED machine is designed for laypeople – when you press the start button it will walk you through the steps (i.e. doing compressions, putting the pads on the individual, analyzing sending shock…)
Vanessa Palange shared that 911 can tell you where the nearest AED is located – they have a list of all locations.
President Gerry closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
