Gerry thanked the 42 Rotarians that made the show’s success possible. Great day!
Over 800 people attended (probably 1000).
150 Cars were at the show.
Gerry reminded people – If you have signs, please bring them in.
Dave gave Car Show #’s:
TOTAL: $14,589.95 (45% came from that day)
Net: 11,788.74
Dave was happy to see George Descoteau at the event.
Next year’s goal: $15,000

Donna – Recognition Night – June 9, 5:30, Hampton Inn. Ken Moulton said there will be 3 non-traditional scholarships awarded.
Dick Swett – Assisted the Interact kids with computer guidance for the residents of White Rock Senior Living facility.
Eric A. remembered Bill Hilton and announced Bill’s funeral is today.
Pres. Mike in Dean’s absence reminded club - 1st Grade Reading – Friday, May 27th.
Mike reported that he’s received 35 responses from the recent Survey regarding dues.

Bob C. - Rosemary’s mother passed away last night. She had been failing for quite some time. A comfort that she went peacefully.

Steve D.- Happy he attended young grandson’s play. He came away having a lot of respect for the teachers.
Mike G. – For daughter’s graduation from Bryant College, and for her making the Dean’s List every semester.
Linda L. - She ran into Harold Keyes. He’s home for the summer, and he’s doing well.
Gerry C. – Great car show. And he’s taking this afternoon off to watch is granddaughter’s horse lessons.
Dave G. – Thankful for Eric’s documenting of the Car Show. Thankful for Gerry keeping him on track, encouraging him, etc. Also thankful for Wendy for all her help behind the scenes. He couldn’t have done it without her.
Speaker: Chris P. introduced Mike Garfield, mentor for Destination Imagination/Global
Creative Challenge. Mike started in the program by being an appraiser (judge). Two team
members came with him, Hayden Udelson and Aditya Shah to talk about their experience and perspective on the program and what they are working on this year.
The organization is supported by school systems. BEEP is a side program to help fundraise
for the Globals, held this year at the Univ. of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Global Creative Challenge – Team can choose from a category, some of which are; Structural, Scientific, Engineering, Mathematics, Improv. Basic creative premise – Think "out of the box". This year they’ve chosen from the scientific category with Camouflage
Techniques. They came up with a virus which imitates other viruses and invades your body.
They start their skit with "The Big Sneeze."
Hayden and Aditya’s team, after 11 years of a lot of hard work made Globals. They had come in 3rd 5 times, but only 1st and 2nd go to Globals. Team participants, 4 min./4 max.
Within the skit, different judging criteria must be met for various points. There will be:
17,0000+ attendees, 8,000+ students, 20+Countries, 1,464+ teams, 500+Volunteers.
Bow has had one of the strongest presences in the State competitions. 2 Teams made Globals this year. Competition is May 25-28, 2016. See globalfinals.org for more info.
