Tom Ives reported that we only have 24 Christmas Trees and 3 Birdseed Wreaths left to see and he expects they will all be gone by the end of the weekend.

 

Steve DeStefano mentioned that there is a bag at the back of the room for socks to be donated.  The Interact Club is collecting socks fort the homeless.  The bag will return next week and there is a box at the hight school that you can drop off in as well.  Since it was a cold morning, no one took their socks off and put them in the bag.

 

David Gazaway announced that Bow Rotary will be ringing the Salvation Army bell at the Stores St Market Basket again this year on December 22nd from 10 AM to 8 PM. There was a signup sheet going around.  If you sign up for an hour and remember to tell Secretary Bill, you will be credited with a makeup.  30 min slots are also available.

 

The usual logo, late and pin fines were collected and there were no birthdays to report so Ben went on to Happy Bucks.

Jon Ruggles announced that the Boys & Girls Club annual auction is tomorrow.  You can find it on several cable Concord cable stations or online.

Paul Mercier told us that his house in Canterbury will be going up on the market very soon.

Matt Gatzke had a good time selling trees this year.  Sorry, I didn't catch if he was solo or with someone.

Tamar Roberts was happy both boys were flying home for Christmas even if she had to go to Boston two days in a row to pick them up.

Jeannie Richards is concerned about her son and his wife, who took their honeymoon trip to St. Kits to hike and contracted Dengue Feaver.  Her son's nervous system was affected. Both making a slow recovery but recovering.

Rick Minard announced that the Concord Chorale Christmas concert at South Church this weekend.

Gerry Carrier was happy that Midnight Merriment went very well this year

Chris Parkinson has a great time selling "a tree" with Gerry Carrier this week.  Also recounted a memory of he and Linda Bliss and the Dominican Republics GSE team went to the White Mountains and encountered a Moose.  One of the team members went chasing after the moose much to Linda's horror.

Chuck Rheinhardt was proud of his grandson's awards in football.

Ben Kiniry asked for prayers for his aunt who has lived through several cancer scares but has now been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Dave Gazaway had several but it was hard to keep up.  However, he seemed most proud of his, but mostly Chris Nicolopoulos's skill in selling 18 trees on their shift topping Tom Wilson's 16.

Karen Wadsworth was pleased with the recent club event at the Bow library.

 

President Judy started off with the election of club and foundation officers for 2018-19.  The slate is a follows: Past President, Judy Goodnow | President, Bryant Stevener | President-Elect, Dave Scanlan | Vice President, Matt Gatzke | Secretary, Bill McGonagle | Treasurer, Paul Mercier.  The slate was proposed and voted on separately for both the club and foundation.  Both motions passed.

 

Secretaries Report: Bill McGonagle - Current membership 55 members including the two approved resignations of Mark Lavalle and Nate Sanel.  We have one new member, Keliane Totten who will be brought in soon bringing us up to 56.

 

Treasurer's Report: Paul Mercier - Final numbers are in for the auction. (Sorry I missed the total) otherwise we are doing well.  We will have the scholarship recipients at our meeting on January 5th to receive their scholarship checks.  That will reduce the foundation balances some.

 

Project Updates: President Judy
Town Map Project going well, just behind schedule.  She is expecting to have the maps printed and ready to distribute by early January.

Old Town Hall Project: The door is in and has been delivered.  Once it's installed, they will be able to finalize the ramp.  They needed to have the door installed in order to get the ramp height correct.

 

Honduras project planning going well.  Current political unrest a possible issue but we have spoken to Rafael Castillo and he reported that things have calmed down, the curfews have been lifted and throughout this issue, Danli has been fine with no issues.  He expects that the political issues will be resolved by the first of the year and at any time the Rotary club of Danli feels our safety is a risk, they will let us know.

 

The India grant is going very well.  The club will soon have to decide what international project(s) they want to apply for a grant for.
