A potential new member, Mike Ard,  was presented to Board for membership consideration.  Matt Dodge will schedule the fireside chat

Matt Dodge:  Update on auction.  Sent email to thank sponsors including 2 major sponsors; Roberts & Green and Merrimack County Savings Bank
Matt shared the current donation list.  He reported that so far we have 7-8 major items donated.  He suggested all members to continue to work on businesses to collect items for the auction.
Matt also reported that so far we are at about 1/3 of items that we had last year.
Donna Deos asked when they go on website.  Judy Goodnow responded that she is adding to the website as soon as she receives the items.

Judy Goodnow- Continuing to work on paper Mache project.   Oct 30th.   The theme will be our auction space theme.  Volunteers will probably want to wear space theme colors i.e. blue.
Gerry Carrier - Pavilion update. Gerry reported that the pad is in.  We have requests out to framers.  Two do not have time and were removed from the bidding.  Received a bid from third last night.  Will review.
Bob Couch - Can’t confirm delivery date yet on Christmas trees and wreaths.  We have requested November 25 or 26th.  The Garden club will order wreaths from us again this year.  Bob will let Jon Ruggles know how many to order for the Garden Club and us.  Interact is working on birdseed wreaths to sell.
Linda Bliss - Roadside cleanup- had a great signup response last week for roadside clean up.  Still looking for more to sign up. Confirmed date of 10/15.
Michelle Fortin spoke with the Bow Garden Club.  Rotary Park clean up will be on 10/22.  We are looking for volunteers.
Matt Dodge - update on new members.  Mary Eweka has had to withdraw her application for now due to outside commitments.

President Michelle presented new member Melissa Howard, sponsored by Mike Griffin.  Michelle gave our induction speech.  Mike presented the Rotary pin to Melissa to welcome her to Rotary.  Michelle presented Melissa with her packet and gave instructions on how each of us are to personally welcome Melissa to the club, either in person or by email.  Those that fail to do so will pay a fine.

Sergeant at Arms: Dave Scanlan filled in for Bryant Stevener today.
Birthdays: Peter Imse had a birthday but we did not get to celebrate as Peter is out celebrating birth of Grandson.

Fines: Jerry Kingwill - $1 logo fine

Happy Bucks:

Mike Fortier -Just got back from a trip to Scotland.  Visited Edenborough while the Queen was there.
Dick Swett - $1.  Just came back from a trip to Naples.  Were visiting to speak about a book of Katrina’s.
Melissa Howard - $2.  Glad to be here.
Steve DeStefano - Attending Ed Matulaitis funeral today.  Flight to Ft Meyers got cancelled.  FL house is still standing but still no electricity.

Program: President Michelle introduced our District Governor, Randell Barclay.
He and his wife Dianne, have hosted 4 exchange students.
Randell reported that the district will continue our trend of fall one day District conferences.  This years will be on 11/6 at the Killington Grand Resort.  This is our 117th year in rotary and the first time a woman (Jennifer Jones) has been elected as Rotary's President. (see Rotary magazine).
Our theme this year is Imagine Rotary - Chosen by Jennifer.  Chose an Australian artist.
Imagine Rotary:
Jennifer is asking us to imagine a different Rotary.  Giving us permission to experiment.  In a bottom up organization, you need to start change/experiment at the bottom.   Experiment different ideas and see what we can pass on to other clubs to move forward.
Called on Diane to begin reverse Jeopardy.
Requested each person in attendance to think of a question beginning with “Imagine Rotary if”
Diane- Imagine Rotary if everyone stayed forever
Judy Goodnow - “Imagine Rotary if everyone gave 100%”
Randell  encouraged people to look at Rotaract Clubs and the Rotary Community Core (set up to do projects).  As well as other options of subsidiary clubs which could entail different due/meeting structures.
We need to find ways to bring other people to join us.  If average age is 70 we need to find a  way to bring younger people in.
Randell encouraged everyone to consider what Rotary looks like post pandemic. Randell stated that the district shrunk during covid but not as much as in other years.
We found that other clubs utilizing Zoom grew.
We need to think about how to market Rotary.  Jennifer says we need a concise elevator speech.
Randell spoke of Rotary’s Vision Statement- “Together we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change -across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Michelle presented our speaker's book to Randell “Milo Imagines The World”.

Respectfully Submitted,
Aron Labrie
