Announcements:
- Gerry Carrier stated that the club has decided to give $10,000 plus there is over $10,000 from individual members to go to Polish Rotary Clubs to help with the refugee crisis from Ukraine.
- Dean Cascadden shared about the 4 Way Test Speech Contest to be held on Tuesday. He will send out an additional email with details on the event to all who will participate. Contest begins at 6:00 on Tuesday 3/22.

- Ben Kiniry read a thank you note for the $250 donation to the Special Olympics.
- Dick Swett updated the club on the Bow Interact’s sister club relationship with Cabo Verde through the military. BHS has donated some uniforms and is collecting school supplies and used technology. Dick is coordinating the interface between all of the players, and the logistics of the donations.
- Gerry Carrier shared about the Car Show on May 14th. It will be an all hands on deck event!! Cooking crew is coming together. A few trophy sponsorships are available for $100.
- Ben Kiniry - Board meeting will be Monday. Masks are still being worn as a club. This will be on the agenda for Monday.

Program:
Eric Anderson introduced Bow Police Chief Ken Miller who has been President of Rotary in his former club in Lincoln Woodstock NH. He updated the club on the Bow police. There are thirteen officers in the budget, 11 presently employed. There are five people in the hiring process and a few retirements. Recruitment and hiring has been difficult. He spoke of specific promotions and needs in the department. He jumped right into the budget process and is looking to move things forward. K9 officer Roxie is retiring, and they have a fundraiser that has already hit $15,000 to replace her. Canine human officers are changing. SRO (school resource officer) has been named and will be spending more time in schools. Scheduling has been difficult. They are testing body cameras as part of a grant- $72,000 total with $36,000 grant funded. These are good tools. Thus far it has helped settle some complaints. Dave Stack stated that the chief has done a great job over the last four months. A computer use audit has shown some improvements that need to be made and that is being worked on. Officers respond to medical calls and they have a need for AEDs in the patrol cars. They save lives. Chief Miller is asking Rotary to help with the $1,000 cost each for 4-6 units. He is also working on getting officers EMT certified as first responders. Bob Couch stated his concern about traffic on Logging Hill. Matt Gatzke asked about the effect of the Interstate exits on crime in Bow. Does the town get help from the state on this? Not really. Departments do help each other. Route 3A does have a lot of activity also. Dick Bean asked about the 89 exit 1 to Logging Hill. Many comments were made by club members. Plans were discussed that are in process to address this.
Ben had the Chief sign the book and closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
