Announcements:

Michelle Fortin - Thank You Letter from Past District Governor, John Bob
Matt Dodge - Auction letters have gone out. List for members to start working on will be at our next meeting. Sponsorships are really needed. They generate 40% of our total auction revenue so it’s very important members work on these.
Ken Moulton – Golf tournament - we had two teams. One shot 5 under and the other finished 7 under. All had a great time.
Bob Couch – Christmas Trees have been ordered and deposit sent.
Michelle Fortin - We had our Jeannie Richards goodbye Zoom gathering this past Tuesday evening and Paul Mercier also sent her a small tree as a gift.

Chris Parkinson – Amigo’s meeting held – Trip confirmed for this coming February. Good commitment and support from the medical professionals.
Matt Dodge - $5 (Sorry Matt. Couldn’t hear for what)
Dean Cascadden - had a great time playing in the district golf tournament. Has kicked off his last year with his school staff. I think he said he sang them some songs……
Judy Goodnow – Her husband Michael’s son suffering from some mental issues. She recently got to see a friend she has had for 40 yrs.
Matt Gatzke – headed to Maine for vacation - Booth Bay? and north woods.
Mike Gula – Son had a medical emergency while driving and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Doing Ok now though.
Steve DeStefano - $$ Anniversary +? (there was more but couldn’t hear)
David Gazaway – $2 Great week in NC - Topsail Island. Dylan dropped off at Keen State this past Wednesday
Bryant Stevener – Plays in golf league with Mike Gula. In the playoffs ended up playing against Corrie Laroche, Brian’s son.
Michelle Fortin – Son Eric graduated from MBA program. (there was more but couldn’t hear)
Ben Kiniry – Played in golf tournament. Went up to Newfound Lake last week. Cousin came for a visit. Tomorrow doing 60-mile bike race with lots of hills in VT.

Program:

Steve DeStefano introduced our speaker, former member and Concord City Counselor, Erle Pierce.

Erle: Great to be back in Bow. There is a great deal going on regionally. In Concord, priorities were set at beginning of the year. Several projects that will affect both communities. One is the I-93 project - $290M for 4 miles. Several market rate and workforce housing developments have been approved with more in the planning stages. The city signed a hydro agreement that should generate $100k/yr. Streetlights have been converted to LED – should safe $600k over 10 years.

Water for Bow is still under consideration.

Working on helping the homeless population is ongoing – you need to work on the issue one person at a time. They all have their own story and problems/reasons for being homeless. There are no broad solutions.

Questions:
Is rail coming to the city? Erle: Greenway trail has been extended but no talk of rail coming to Concord.

Steve DeStefano - where is the I-93 4 miles? Erle: from I-89 to just north of I-393.

Michelle Fortin - What are you seeing as the demographic in Concord? Erle: Lot of new families and new citizens are coming. To help to cater to the new nationalities, a new food truck ordnance is now in place using “Ghost Kitchens” for the food prep. For instance, the Cap Center kitchen is one that is being used for this purpose.

Also, farmlands on the east side of I-93 that border the greenway trail, have been voted to remain agricultural.

Peter Imse – New zoning in Concord seems to be generating some buzz. Erle: “Concord Next” is a new zoning plan being considered. It only references new construction. It is geared towards adding “Tiny Houses” or an “In-Law” building to a property if space permits. Designed to help families deal with aging in place.
