President Gerry opened the meeting at 07:30 AM and greeter Tamar Roberts shared some inspiration, such as “don’t ever date a check on a Sunday, it may not be cashed,” and other insights.

Announcements:
- President Gerry reported on the local Rotary president’s meeting, which included 10 presidents from local clubs. It’s a good opportunity to share events, and what is happening in regional clubs.
- Bow Rotary has been challenged by both Concord Rotary clubs to a cornhole tournament, with proceeds going towards the winning club’s local charities – details TBD.
- The office supply drive organized by the Hooksett Club will continue until February 15th, and items can be brought to next week’s meeting.
- A donation to Bow Rotary in the amount of $19,000 has been made by Sarah Tinsdale, former Bow resident and Rotary scholarship recipient, believed to be employed by Microsoft and now a resident of Washington State. $10,000 of this was Sarah’s personal donation with the balance from Microsoft. This very generous support will be devoted to scholarships.
- Rotary Park committee is still meeting regarding marker ideas – possibly granite.
- Recognition night is tentatively June 12th at the Baker Free Library. (time tbd)
- Ben Kiniry reports that the Concord Rotary Club will help with the Africa project.

Program: Member’s Meeting
Tamar Roberts provided the club with an entertaining classification talk that focused on the early part of her life. Tamar still lives in the house in Bow that she grew up in, and she moved to Bow when she was only eight months old. Tamar’s mother was a Bow Selectperson, so Tamer was well attuned to town affairs from a young age. She spent some college years in Canada at St. John’s University, and Tamar’s maternal grandmother hailed from Labrador there is (and remains) and family connection to our northerly neighbor. Tamar started her work life in the construction industry, flagging and driving for the Audley corporation in Bow. She made her way to New Hampshire College to finish her degree and entered the field of accounting. While the clock ran out on her time, we are looking forward to a continuation of her story! It was like listening to a Jeannie Gerulskis story only it made sense.
President Gerry closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
