Announcements:
  • Matt Dodge – Auction committee will be sending out a list of businesses that have received letters and will need a Rotarian to follow up.  Please email Matt with the list of companies you wish to take responsibility for.  Please don’t start following up until your list is confirmed by Matt as there might be another member with closer ties etc.

We also still need sponsors so please if you know of a company or organization that we would like too sponsor, please approach them.  Sponsorships represent 40% of our total auction revenue.

  • Linda Bliss – Roadside pickup will be October 15th.  Signup sheet will be circulated soon.

  • Bob Couch – Christmas Trees have been ordered and confirmed we will get 200.  They are running low on Fraser Fir trees, so it won’t be 50/50 this year.  Paul has sent the deposit.
Sergeant at Arms: Bryant Stevener
Birthdays: Ben Kiniry – good year, business doing well.  Hired an excellent support person we all know and love.  Son has gone into the Navy and they are planning to travel to see him graduate from basic training.

Program: Quarterly Club Discussions Meeting
Secretary Gerry Carrier discussed an issue that our club’s bylaws have not been updated since 2012 and they have fallen out of sync with Rotary International’s bylaws and need to be updated.  Every three years, Rotarians meet at the Council on Legislation to review and vote on proposed changes to the legislation that governs Rotary.  They consider enactments, which change Rotary’s governing documents, and position statements by the RI Board.  Each district selects a representative to attend the council meetings.
Gerry said that not all of the changes affect us and there may not be many changes needed to our by-laws but a committee needs to be formed to review the current RI changes and make recommendations to the board.  Once approved by the board, it will be voted on by the membership and will require a10 day notice of the vote and a 2/3rds majority to pass.

Bill Ames, who’s our Club Administration/International Director, will lead the committee.  Bill will be sending out a message asking for volunteers to participate.  Gerry will send out the current Club’s Constitution and By-Law documents to everyone for their review and input.

Respectfully Submitted,
Bob Couch for Aron Labrie
