Today’s Greeter: Bob Dawkins welcomed members to Bow Rotary

Announcements:
  • President Bryant Stevener thanked the auction committee and all members for their auction work
  • Today is Bill McGonagle’s last meeting, as he will be moving to Connecticut next week. A big thank you to Bill for all of his contributions!
  • Gale Kenison expressed thanks to all on behalf of the auction committee. The club then did a wrap-up from all the committee members. Highlights included 1,133 raffle tickets sold - $71 tips for Polio from the bar - $26,800 (rough) profit from the event, with 112 attendees. Half the profits came from sponsor donations, so a huge thank you to all sponsors.
Sergeant at Arms:
Fines: Logo fine for Jon Ruggles, R&T Electric. Michelle Oliver for her picture in the Bow Times with no pin.
Birthdays: Jon Ruggles' birthday was on Saturday, and he gave his annual $100 contribution to the Foundation
 
Happy Bucks:    
  • Chris Parkinson paid a fine because his speaker arrived at the meeting before Chris.
  • Bill McGonagle gave a happy $40. He joined the Bow club in May 2015 and will be leaving Bow next Tuesday/Wednesday
  • Peter Imse’s daughter gave birth to a baby boy, and Peter thanked club members for involving the Interact students in the auction
  • Gerry Carrier auctioned a few remaining items that had not sold.
Raffle Winner:  Chris Parkinson had the winning ticket but he didn’t find the joker
 
Program:
Chris Parkinson announced the guest speaker: Melissa Howard, the Director of donations at the VNA. Melissa spoke about the upcoming 23rd annual “Hospice Lights of Life”. Over 200 local businesses participated last year. Other highlights from Melissa’s presentation:
  • The VNA was established in 1899
  • They provide home care services, hospice services, and professional home services.
  • The VNA employs 405 people
  • 6500 patients have been serviced
  • 1.3 million miles were driven by staff over the past year

Sarah Castelot - Caring Companions at Easter Seals.
They offer non medical, in home care for individuals, elderly,
or with chronic or mental illness. They work very closely with folks with Alzheimer's and
are all Certified Dementia Practitioners. 
 
Karen McNamara - The Concord Crisis Center
Talk about the Center as Bow is one of the towns in their catchment area.
