Bob D., greeter, welcomed one and all to Bow Rotary.
President Gale called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. sharp.
Attendance: 40 Bow Rotarians, (no guests, visitors or speakers).
Announcements:
Noreen C. – Auction update. Next week we will get a full update, but we still need sponsors!
Peter I. – Upcoming Primary. Need help with the ballot counting so as to be ready in time.
Chris P. – The Past and Current President plaque has been updated. Chris also updated us on the District Expo (November 10th) and the Golf Tournament. 7 of the 8 players showed up and the B team beat the A team this year. The B team placed 4th, and the overall trophy went to Vermont this year.
Nate S. – Facebook Page/Marketing update. Explained how Facebook could be used as a great recruiting tool and talked about the increased activity that will be happening. I encourage all members with Facebook to go to the page and "Like" it. The link is here:

Sargeant at Arms (Gerry C):
Fines: Chris P., John R. for logos.
Happy Bucks:
Ken M. – One for his wife traveling, and another for being able to do anything he wants while she’s away!
Noreen C. – Happy to be healing up and Vertical. Was great to see her stand up out of her wheelchair.
Harry J. – Did his best to put rumors of Chief of Police Eric C’s retirement from the town of Bow to bed.
Ben K. – Spent time at the cabin on the lake.
Peter I. – Saw Kate Putnum, who sends her love and best wishes to the club.
Steve L. – His son and family have moved back in.
Nate S. – Went on a 3-day bike trip.
Judy G. – Was happy for the chance to see the Loons and their baby chicks.
Bob C. – Exchange student (and her husband) who was here in 2002-3 is back for Becka Keys’ wedding. Having a gathering Monday night for anyone interested.
David G. – Gave a dollar 4 ways. And busted my chops (Nate S) for saying it was a "shocker" that he was late last week in the Bulletin. He proved me wrong by being early this week.
John R. – for the article in the Bow Times, wanted to say thank you all.
Raffle: Past President Mike G. had an opportunity to look at the deck of cards from the other side of the podium. But…he didn’t pull the Joker.
Program:
Since we did not have a speaker, new Bow member Matt Dodge (previously a member in Meredith) gave a Classification talk. Matt talked about his background as a competitive ski racer and his work history from teaching economics in Upstate NY, eventually leading up to his current position at UBS as a Wealth Manager. In true Rotarian fashion, he expressed his interest in being involved with folks who want to improve their community.
Bulletin Editor for August: I just wanted to thank all who helped me with my first time doing the newsletter. And I apologize for spelling so many names wrong and not getting everyone’s last name (Sorry Betsey Patten)!
Respectfully Submitted,
Nate Sanel
