Announcements: - Matt Dodge talked about a new fundraising event called, Gaming Night. Which is done at many spots throughout the state. The gaming facility needs non-profit organizations to run them. We could do this for ten days every calendar year.
- Road side pick-up will be done on the 11th of Oct. Meet at the 3A Park-n-Ride at 0800.
- Ken Moulton showed up after being absent for medical issues ( Achilles Heel ) things are going well
- President Ben said that the grant for Child Voice is being worked on and the fundraising is going well.
- Interact: Dick Swett - Flock of Flamingos are back and can be ours if you hire them. Eight birds will show up for 4 days anywhere in Bow for a donation of $10.00. The Peanut Butter Drive it on, As well as the road side clean-up which is Oct. 17th. Club has 20 members
- Matt Dodge - Auction up-date: The auction this year will be done on-line only. Starting Wed Nov. 3rd through Saturday the 6th. and people will be able to view the different items available and bid on them by using a link from our club website. Items for the auction are still needed. Raffle tickets are also still available and can be purchased at Merrimack County Savings Bank - Bow office, from any Bow Rotarian and www.bowrotary.org
- Christmas Trees: We are having a problem purchasing trees this year. The committee is looking for a new source for them, if anyone knows of a tree farm please contact Jon Ruggles.
- Trick or Treat is going to being run by the Parks and Rec at Bow High School this year. Judy Goodnow called it (Trunk-O-Treat) is going to be on Oct. 31st.
- Garden Club clean-up is on Oct 18th from 9 to 2
Sergeant at Arms: Fines: Matt Dodge, Eric Anderson had pin or badge fines Chris Parkinson had a CSOne Logo fine. Happy Bucks: Bob Couch suggested that we should do away with Halloween. He said he's been wearing a mask and eating chocolate for 14 months already. Linda Bliss paid a buck for park clean-up Ken Moulton gave $20.00 because he was glad to be back and also to announce that next week former Gov. Lynch will be our guest speaker. Dave Scanlan went on a cross country with his daughter who has taken a job in Seattle and saw the wonders of our great country along the way. Matt Gatzke's Son-in-Law’s band is playing at the Bank of N.H. Pavilion
Program:
Connor Spern, from The Concord Coalition to End Homelessness gave an informative talk of the different programs in Concord that work with the homeless. Working with people that are trying to find housing to rent. They work in eight of the ten counties in the state. Working in conjunction with the Friendly Kitchen and other organizations that are trying to help women and children find safe overnight housing.
