Announcements:
  • Ben: Today is Club Assembly
  • Judy Goodnow spoke about the upcoming “Trunk and Treat” event at the high school starting at 2:00 and running until 3:30.  Candy is needed; please bring some to our next meeting.  Steve DeStefano chimed in that the Interact Club will be handing out trunk treats as well.
  • Ben gave a talk at the Sunrise Rotary Club about the work that is being done on our global grant project and asked them to participate.
  • Ben: Classification talks will start up again in the near future.  Several members have not given one and for several older members, it's been a long time.
  • Ben: Conducted the District 7870 officers election.  We cast votes for the incoming officers and all were approved by our club.
  • Ben then asked for thoughts/comments on the proposed idea to host gambling nights at area casinos.  After several members got up and gave passionate speeches on why we should not be involved with gambling as a fundraising event, Ben called for a club vote and the idea was voted down.
  • Gerry Carrier reported that we have money to spend on projects and spoke on the need to find new project that we can donate money too.  Ben suggested that members present ideas for projects to fund.
  • Ben asked that we each bring at least one friend to a meeting that may be interested in joining our club.  At one time we had 70 members and now we are down to under 46.  The club is still doing the same out-reach programs that we have always done but with fewer members.
Sergeant at Arms:
Fines:
Chris Parkinson paid a fine for his csONE Benefit Solutions logo.

Happy Bucks:
Linda Bliss - thanked Ben and Gerry for helping with Rotary Park clean-up.
Eric Anderson – was sad to see the end of this year’s camping season.  He and Cherilyn traveled to nine different places this camping season in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.  They has also just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
Rob Werner gave $26 for a conference he will be attending.  It is the UN Climate Conference in Glasgow, Scotland - COP26 (Conference of the Parties).  Rob is a member of the Dartmouth College delegation to COP26.  It kicks off on November 1st.

Respectfully Submitted,
