- Dean Cascadden reminded folks that Bow Rotary members would be reading the personalized books at Bow Elementary School this morning.

- Ben Kiniry announced that the concert series is all set and that an ad will appear in the Bow Times.  Volunteers are needed for all concerts, including MCs.

- Donna Deos reminded the group that the Rotary Foundation opportunity to contribute $26.50 is still available.  We’d like to have every member involved.  

- Peter Imse noted that the Interact Club at Bow High School was visible at the car show and that they continue to have an impact…a polio survivor thanked them for their efforts, and a future teacher was inspired because of them – they made a difference!

- President Gail recapped Recognition Night and applauded Mike Griffin for his service, having done so much or the club in various capacities – he is now a Paul Harris fellow.

 

The usual fines were levied…R&T Electric, Cobb Hill Construction…

Merrimack County Savings Bank (emeritus) is back…joined by another MCSB fine!

Many fines were levied for members for not wearing pins on Recognition Night.

No birthdays this week.

 

- Paul Rizzi saluted the five readers for the Bow elementary school personalized books…Judy, Noreen, Rick, Rob, and Chris.

- Chris Parkinson made some offhand snark about the success of the New York Yankees – but they do remain in first place in the AL east.

- Steve DeStefano saluted the 119^th season of Concord baseball

- Mike Griffin noted that he and his son Andrew have completed the 4000 footers in NH and Vermont, and are now working on Maine.

- Dave Gazaway highlighted the positive impact of the home run derby, raising funds for the “Lend Me a Hand Foundation” – they raised 2,200 in one day.

- Ben Kiniry went to DC with his son to attend a convention where board games are invented – lot’s of interesting ideas!

- President Gail noted that there will be an open house for the New Bow Public Safety Building.

 

Rick Minard was the winner….no Joker pulled, though

 

Attendance report – for the month of May, 88.88 percent with 22 misses.

Membership – 52 actual, 5 honorary = 57 total members

Invoices have been mailed (e-mail) and are due on July 1^st.  There is now a member sign in sheet...fines will begin on July 1^st if members do not sign in.

Treasurer report - $17,462 in regular account, $60,146 in foundation.

Dave Scanlan reported that Club Service was all under control.

Matt Gatzke will now be a director of the club.

Car show results – a big success, raising $12,446.63 with over 170 cars on the field.  There is high confidence that over 200 cars will be at next years show.

Mike Griffin reported on the road side pick-up during which a bigly amount of trash was collected.  There will be another road side pick-up in the fall.  

President Gail reported that the new town map is under development and should be available for distribution in the autumn.

Gerry Carrier and Dave Gazaway presented a proposal for the club to donate $25,000 for the Wildcat Habitat project at Bow Memorial School, which was the subject of a previous club meeting.  Harry Judd  moved to accept the proposal, and Chuck Rheinhardt seconded the motion.  After discussion, the motion passed on a voice vote, without any opposition.  

Karen Wadsworth asked that in the future there be advance notice when a major contribution will be presented to the club.  

President Gail closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
