President Mike and James Newsom presented Sandy Bartlett keys to her 'new' car as a
show of both Clubs' appreciation for her years of providing our clubs such wonderful
breakfasts. We did a short field trip out side to introduce her to her new ride.

Harry also reminded club Boy Scout Troop 75 will pick up items at your house on Tues.

Gerry Carrier- CAR SHOW- May 14 (tomorrow). Would be great if some volunteers could be there as early as 6:30-6:45. They expect a big turnout. Be there are or be square!!

Bill Mcgonagle for: He and his wife’s recent trip to Amsterdam and Normandy, their
Daughter’s 33rd Birthday yesterday, and his cousin Butch coming up from NJ for the
Car Show with his ’58 or ’59 Crown Vic.
Steve DeStefano for: late buck, and one for his daughter Kim’s upcoming work as a Jesuit volunteer in for a year in San Jose, starting in August.
Pete Powers to honor Bob Couch’s District Treasure Award!
James Newsom to thank the Bow Club.
Dave Gazaway to thank Bob Couch for mowing the lawn for Car Show and greasing the
Tractor! Also an “uh oh, I think I’m in trouble” buck for finding an unidentified set of
Keys in his pocket.
Bob Couch for a nice remembrance of Nils Kling with his wife, Linda and family and about
75 residents of Grand Manan, where the Couch’s and Klings have a home.
Jeannie Gerulskis for her apple tree finally getting some blossoms.
Club Assembly:
Chris Parkinson gave us updates from the District Conference. He also attended a Rotary
Legislative meeting in Chicago with 530 districts represented (518 certified).
There are 181 resolutions recommended to the Board, some of which pertain to:
Keeping the polio efforts going.
Keeping the ambassadorial program
There are 120 enactments pertaining to changing the by-laws of Rotary:
Dues – Increasing $4/year (2%/year)
Allowing clubs to be flexible with meeting frequency, membership, etc.
Membership criteria – Person of good character and standing in the community and
Willing to serve.
Resolutions will be dealt with online.
Chris concluded that it was a great experience, especially culturally.
Jeannie G. asked about moving the magazine online instead of print. Chris said that topic is being discussed.
Alan Kanesgsberg, District Treasurer – Gave us a presentation on the History of Rotary
Dues (his pitch). Bow’s dues is one of the lowest.
Suggestions:
Stop weekly raffle.
Stop weekly raffle and keep paying the same amount.
Eliminate raffle and increase dues by $4
Paul Harris for President – take out of the foundation
Increase dues by $25.
Gayle and Mike will send out a survey…..which we will all FILL OUT!!
