Program:Chris Parkinson introduced Diane Barclay, our District Foundation Chair.
Diane gave an informative presentation about the Rotary Foundations at all levels. November is Foundation Month, and October is Giving to Eradicate Polio Month. Rotary members can join the Polio Eradication Society by contributing $100. Bill Gates is offering a two-to-one match up to $100 million for this effort.
Diane described the difference between the Annual Fund, Endowment Fund and Polio Plus fund. The advantage of these funds are that Rotarians contribute to the fund, Rotarians are the ones who develop projects for the funds, and Rotarians decide the funding priorities and spend the funds.
President Gerry closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
