Announcements:
  • A welcome to Honorary Member Jon Hanson joining us on Zoom today.
  • Ben read a letter from Ray Helgemoe’s family.  It was his wish upon his death to donate $1000 from his estate to the Bow Rotary Club.
  • 1st grade reading is all set for today after the meeting.  We will be having 5 members reading at BES and 2 at DES.
  • Ben reported on our Global Grant.  We are at approximately $60,000 raised with the hopes of some late donations reaching the $80,000 goal.
  • We had a few perfect attendance awards left to give out.  Steve DeStefano 33 years, Peter Imse 36 years, Paul Mercier 38 years and Jon Ruggles 42 years.
President Ben presented a Community Service award to Mike Gula who was instrumental in organizing a fundraiser for the Ouelette family this past fall.

Sergeant at Arms: Bryant Stevener
Birthdays: Dave Gazaway.  Wendy is still married to him which no one could figure out why?  Oldest son Dylan graduates in a few weeks from High School and will be attending Keene State College in the fall.

Fines: Matt Gatzke and Dick Swett were fined for being seen pin-less in pictures in the Bow Times.

Happy Bucks:  It was a big day for happy bucks and I will start with fining myself for this week as I forgot to write down all of them when I returned to my seat! Lots of them were for the Car Show, that I do remember.

Program: This week was our monthly Club Assembly meeting.
Secretary Gerry Carrier reported that we have 39 active and 7 honorary members.  Attendance for the month was 94% and after members working the car show, that number will be 100%.  Dues for this year have been set at $130 and invoices are due June 30th.  Rule 85 members applications are due for the June Board meeting so the board can vote.

Treasurer Paul Mercier reported we have about $12,000 in the Club budget and $55,000 in the Foundation.  Of that $26,000 is allocated for scholarships and before the end of the year the Car Show proceeds will add another $13,000-$15,000.

Bryant Stevener reported that the Sergeant’s budget is on line to come in on budget by the end of the year.  If you have any outstanding happy bucks or fines from Zoom, please get those in before the end of June.

Community Report: The Car Show went well, and final numbers are being tallied.  The Concert Series is all set but we still are in need of 1-2 more sponsors.  Dave Scanlan will be sending around a sign-up sheet soon.  Bob Couch is the chair of Christmas Trees this year and will be calling a meeting soon to decide on how many to order.

International Report: Global Grant is coming to an end and will be submitted officially soon.  PDG Chris Parkinson gave an update on Amigos as well.

Club/Vocational:  Everything is going well with set up.  Evelyn comes next week for her second trial breakfast.  We will soon be sending out a survey on future breakfast’s regarding how much to charge.  We will be bringing back a raffle and talking about what we would like to do as a club going forward.  Visioning will give an update on if we’re meeting our goals set forth this past year.  Regarding IT/Tech we have a new router at the OTH which seems to be working much better.  The Owl is also working well.

New Generations: Early Act and Interact just had their last meeting of the year and roadside cleanup went well for them after it was postponed due to thunderstorms.  Mike Griffin reported our scholarship application numbers are pushing 30 for the year!
Today was also the second announcement regarding the Rotary pavilion project.  During next week’s meeting, we will open up discussions with membership and perhaps hold a vote on the project.

Respectfully Submitted,
Bryant Stevener
