Program:
David Scanlan – Classification Talk
He was born in State College, PA and spent his summers camping. He went to West Virginia University and Majored in Forestry.  He managed land-holdings in NH for a wealthy individual for 25 years.  He was always interested in environmental issues and has testified in Concord, NH about them.  He was a State Representative for 8 terms, then became a Majority Leader.  He was Deputy Secretary of State for 20 years, and now he is Secretary of State! New Hampshire has had the First in the Nation Primary for 104 years.  As part of his duties as Secretary of State, he must wait for all other states to announce their Primary dates, so that he can then set the Primary date for NH.  The Republicans are staying the course regarding the First in the Nation Primary,  Republicans are staying the course.  The democrats want to push back the dates of the Primary in NH because NH is “too white, too educated, and too wealthy.”  However, David challenged this outlook and stated that in NH, we have limited media markets and it is easy to get on the ballot – only $1000 or by going to 10 counties and getting 10 signatures, which will waive the $1000 requirement.  David states, “it doesn’t get much more American than that.”
So, on Monday, 9/11/2023, the date will be set for the Filing Period.
A national movement to disqualify the former president, after a violation of the constitution, will be decided nationally.
David Scanlan wanted to remind the club, that he has two wonderful children, that are very successful.

Respectfully Submitted,
Michelle Fortin
Immediate Past President
