Tynan Flanagan has submitted his resignation to the club, as he has been too busy with work and kids. He expects to return as a member in the future when time allows.
BAC event on October 4th. More news to follow at future meetings.
Auction season is upon us! Carol Niegisch has emailed members the list of items/business they secured/approached last year and asked us to approach these businesses again. Please be thinking of other opportunities you have within your networks and help us secure desirable items!
District Golf – Sept 29th at Foxrun Club at Ludlow VT. Eight members have signed up so far, contact Ken Moulton if you would like to play, or you can sign up on the district website.
Concerts – Items have been returned to the Municipal building for next year.
Xmas Trees – 200 trees have been ordered, expect similar process as prior years.
Roadside Clean-up – Will set a date for mid-October. Expect sign-up list to follow soon.

Birthdays:
Karen Wadsworth – Turns 80 years old (this afternoon, she adds!). Dad lived to 103. Karen has had a tougher year, has lost some mobility, all of her electronic devices constantly get updated, and she wishes she could get an update! She is very glad to have her Rotary friends.

David Gazaway – Glad to see Eric Anderson at the meeting! Tynan’s electrical business has helped him out greatly.
Eric Anderson – Happy $20, representing how delighted he is to be here. Will get a brain scan on Monday as he is having some memory issues following his accident. The VNA has been very helpful as he recovers at home. He laments his three-week stay in the hospital as it has made maintaining perfect attendance more challenging.
Program: Nathan Mandsager from ChildVoice

Nathan, son of Conrad, shared the work done by ChildVoice, the organization we have been working with for some years to coordinate a Global Grant to support young girls in Uganda.
ChildVoice is approaching 20 years of work, mostly in Africa.
123 Million people are displaced around the world due to war and conflict.
50 Million of these people are children.
In 2006, Conrad and Nathan traveled to Uganda to observe reports of child abductions by rebels.
ChildVoice was born to support the young women who have been victims of abductions to help give them the support and resources needed to rebuild their lives.
Work mostly in Uganda and Nigeria, which includes refugees from DRC, Cameroon, South Sudan.
Also starting to do some work in Ukraine.
Over 15,000 beneficiaries have been served to date.
Includes a residential program where support and training is shared in a non-traditional boarding school type setting for 20 months at a time.
“Thrive” is a program of theirs where the girls are trained to produce reusable menstrual pads to both provide an income for themselves and provide girls in the area a way to remain in school and work towards their future.
Past President Gerry Carrier closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
