Announcements:
  • Gerry & David - Car Show is May 20th
  • Eric Anderson - Last day to sign up for town offices
  • Ben Kiniry - Still fighting the District in Africa's demands for control.
  • Carol Niegisch - Four-Way Speech Contest March 8th BFL
  • Dick Swett - Did a brief presentation on the Malawi Water Taxi Micro Loan Project.  
  • Gerry Carrier made the motion to authorize the board to fund the micro loan up to $2500.  Seconded by Bob Couch - club vote was in the affirmative.
  • Chris Parkinson - (from Danli Honduras) Chris and Dave Lawrence arrived 3 days before the team to setup/coordinate the weeks activities.  They had a good day yesterday. Toured construction site, the medication storage room at the hotel is now all set.  The've met with the local rotarians to finalize plans etc.  Chris and Dave will take the bus tomorrow morning to meet the team at the airport. (4hrs each way)  Probably won't get back to the hotel until after 8pm.  Long tough day for the team who had to be at Logan for a 5am departure.
  • President Michelle - Mike Fortier has resigned due to his extensive travel plans over the next 12-15 months.  He expressed his interest in re-joining when he returns.
  • President Michelle - announced for the 2nd time Dave Farr has been proposed for membership.

Birthdays: Paul Mercier - Woke up on his birthday, put his feet on the floor and felt good so it was a good day.

His guest, Dave Farr, beat him to the meeting again.
President Michelle - Late due to snow squalls on her ride from the seacoast.

Peter Imse - Sad the Bengals lost but happy that he no longer cares who wins.
Linda Bliss - Was pleased with the Clubrunner training Bob gave.
Donna Deos - Yesterday was her 21 yrs anniversary of becoming a Rotarian
Sherri Ferns - Excited that she is finally having all the hardwood floors in the house refinished.
Bob Couch - $2 happy to have Jon Ruggles well and back with us.
Dean Cascadden - His personal hockey rink finally froze
Matt Gayzke - 25 years ago the decided to move to Bow from DC.  Daughter Emily started radiation yesterday on her leg
Steve DeStefabo - Is going to Chicago with the old Rotary gang soon.
David Gazaway - their son Caleb just had his season high with 16 pts, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals.
Jon Ruggles - $5- He and Jackie had their flue and shingles vaccinations and felt ill a few days later.  Both he and Jackie spent hospital time recovering from pneumonia.  It took 3 surgeries to get one of Jon's lungs to drain.
Gerry Carrier - He and Susan had trip to Vegas and he didn't loose as much money as thought he might.
 
Program: SPCA - Executive Director - Heather Faria
SPCA is a non profit 501c3 - not affiliated with any other shelters.
All animals receive medical and behavioral reviews before adoption.
800-1000 adoptions/yr.
Pet food pantry.
They hosts low-cost vaccination and neutering clinics.
Outreach with humaine & educational programs
4 events planned for 2023
Fall Walk for the Animals largest fundraiser.
Construction 2500 sf facility across the street.  Will be used for training, seminars.  Their current large room is overbooked all the time so they are unable to provide all the programming needed.
New space will also be available for rent/host meetings & events etc.
They still are fundraising for new building.
 
President Michelle Closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary the world over.
