President Gale called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m. sharp.

Announcements:
Concert Update – Dave Scanlon; Last concert is Sunday night (8/14) with Dimitry Botnar.
Auction Update – Noreen C; Looking for more sponsors and products. Asked us all to “shoot for the moon”.
New Members – President Gale; Skip Poole and Betsy Patton will be brought into the club this coming week.
President Gale also sadly informed us that Leo Begin’s wife Susan passed away recently. The wake and funeral are Aug 19/20 respectively.

Birthdays – Jeff K. – Gave a family update and said it has been a great year.
Bill M – Had an “interesting” year. Traveled a lot and is now collecting SS! Also had his 29th anniversary.
Happy Bucks:
Chris P. – Gave happy bucks and a golf team update, both teams ready to go. Also gave a $20 for 20 years of bliss in his 42 year marriage, which had us all laughing.
Tom W – Updated us on his daughter’s travels.
Judy G – Went to the League of NH Craftsmen fair and gave an update.
Harry J – Son got married, and all 5 kids are home.
Karen W – Spent time with dear friend and thanked the club for covering for her at the last concert.
Rick M – Met with Nick Normandin
Dick S – Has a new grandson and went to the Pippin theater performance at the BHS.
Peter I – Daughter got engaged to her boyfriend, our speaker Ben from last week.
Robert C – Glad to be back, but could do without the humidity.
Steve D – Daughter won championship (didn’t catch what, sorry!)
David G – Also went to the League of NH Craftsmen fair.
Raffle: Steve D. had the winning ticket but didn't pull the joker.
Program:
Matt Gatzke introduced Brian and Kimberly from Hope for NH recovery. Told the club about the services they offer, and how important “after care” is to the success of recovering clients. They have no state funding and rely on the private sector and volunteers. Also explained how the stereotypical image of an addict is not entirely true. Over 70% are employed. HFNH works with companies to create employee assistance programs to help combat the growing problem. The new location is at 85 South State Street in Concord.
