Announcements:

Gerry C. – Reminder, our car show is May 14th.   Plans are coming together nicely.  Show is held at the fields by Concord Group – 506 South St., Bow, NH.

Harry J. – Rotary Park clean up happened on Saturday April 16th.  Between all the volunteers the work was done is short order and the park looks good.

Chris gave us a mini but full overview of all the accomplishments in Honduras over the past 15 years that our District has been sending teams there.   During the 27 trips there have been 7 new schools built, hospitals created, at least 240 uniforms provided to children – these are required in order to attend school, 2100 filters installed, multiple containers of equipment and priceless relationships created.

District Governor Sandy followed Chris with an overview for the definition and qualifications to be considered for the District Treasure Award.  She went on to highlight the numerous ways this year’s recipient has worked, supported, given, shared and exemplified Rotary.  Some of those ways are, President, board member,  Team leader for trips to Honduras, IT go to person for our club and the list went on and on as we learned our own A. Robert Couch is the 2016 District 7870 Treasure Award recipient.  Congratulations Bob!

Birthdays - Chris N., expecting 3rd Child.   Eric A. – 36 years of perfect attendance and 40 years of blissful marriage to his first wife.   Mike F. – Children are all doing great and wife is planning to beat Mike to retirement.

Sargent at Arms - An abbreviated time was spent this week as we had a full agenda.   The editor did not duly document those few fines and happy bucks.

Raffle ticket – On the 3rd draw David G. had the winning ticket, but no joker was found.

Speaker –

Ira Evans one of our long time members, was interviewed by Jon Hanson.  While Ira’s brother was a charter member of the Bow club, Ira was a charter member of Nashua West club.   This was result of Ira expanding the then family owned business Evans Electrical Supply in Nashua.  Ira has serviced in many capacities both within Rotary and within our Bow community.  Auction days of old when the club would cleanout basements, garages, etc. and then auction those items off.  One of the top things Ira considers he did was inviting Jon Ruggles to join Bow Rotary.   We all could agree with Ira on that assessment.

Mike G. closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary.

Respectfully Submited,

David Gazaway
