Chris Parkinson threw out a “Hip-Hip Hooray” to celebrate Matt’s high level delivery of the details.
Announcements:
President Bryant Stevener made the following announcements:
- Warren Parry from the Men’s Club came to promote the “Flags Across Bow” in support of Boy Scouts, Scholarships and community supported projects. Their goal is to have 150 subscriptions – currently have 110 who have signed up for the $40 commitment. They place American Flags on subscriber’s property for major patriotic holidays.
- District 7870 conference May 3,4 & 5 – Doubletree Hilton North Shore in Mass.
- Dick Sweet speaking at 9:25am on the 5th - topic: Feeding Africa, in Sudan. They are going to do a water filtration project, and also looking to provide education for new community of 3000 people.
Other announcements:
- Donna Deos – Mental Health Awareness Month – have calendar of good offerings for the month
- Mike Griffin- roadside pick-up to be April 27th at 8:00am, need 3 more volunteers
- Rick Minard – No orange vest required for 1st Grade book reading on May 24th in Bow, and May 31st in Dunbarton
- Dave Gazaway- Car show- May 18th. Planning going good.
- 1) Selling T-Shirts for car show- $12 –payment by the 3rd of May. Make checks out to the Foundation. Flyers for show – Posters available next week.
- 2) Former employee who has gone missing for 2 weeks – Linda Minery in Hillsborough, Dave is getting posters for distribution in search for her.
Raffle Winner: Eric Anderson who pulled the Joker, and won the $425 jackpot.

- Eric Anderson – Still married to his 1st wife. Retired after 30 years as selectmen for Town of Bow, now been selected as Library trustee. 2 days after this appointment, Lori Fischer resigned as Librarian. Many questions were ask why Lori resigned??? Eric was happy that Motor Home was being de-winterized (not sure if there is a word like that)
- Judy Goodnow- 70th Birthday today- club had a chance to sing to Judy (sorry Judy). Judy submitted a check to the Rotary Foundation. Judy is retiring next week. Happily married for 15 years, loves her granddaughter. Sad about Notre Dame – she was there last year.

Program: Club Assembly
At board meeting John Preston was approved as new member
Board also acknowledged that the Global grant for clean water program in Ghanda was suspended, and that funds have been returned to club.
Secretary’s report: Gerry Carrier reported for Betsy Patten, who reported 88% attendance for the month
Treasurers Report: Paul Mercier reported that Foundation has $40K and
Club has $26K in bank
Club Service: Michelle Fortin reported that 1) club was to replace coffee maker,
2) currently welcoming 2 new members and 1 proposed member
Vocational Service: Rick Minard reported that 4 way test took place. The 1st Grader read-in is taking place soon. Dave Gazaway commented how easy it is to do- “He did it”. Much laughter had by all.
International Service- Matt Dodge reported that working on Grant for medical supplies to South Africa was underway.
Community Service: Gerry Carrier reported on roadside pick-up on the 27th, and car show on the 18th of May. Also that there are 60 road signs that need placement.
Technology - Robert Louf said that some members are not getting email from ClubRunner. He was going to do a test to fix the problem.
Interact Conference: Dick Swett and Betsy Patten were at Interact Conference in Hopkinton
Dick Bean mentioned that the Thursday Morning Concord Club has been notified, that this coming meeting, 4/25 will be it’s last, at the City Side Restaurant. Dick Bean also recommended that someone on the board contact their club, invite their club to join us until they get somewhere else to meet.
Bryant Stevener closed the meeting with a toast to Rotary at 8:25.
