Announcements:
- Michelle Fortin announced the departure of Jeannie Richards who is transferring to a Rotary Club near her new home and expressed that we will all miss her.
- Peter Imse thanked those who have signed up to help at the summer concerts. The committee is over budget for the series and could use more sponsors.
- Bryant Stevener – Sent a message via Matt Gatzke to please pay any Happy Buck/Fine balance by June 30th
Sergeant at Arms: Matt Gatzke filled in for Bryant Stevener
Birthdays: Carol Niegisch had a birthday but was absent today.
Fines: (Late) Mike Gula and David Gazaway
Happy Bucks:
- Matt Gatzke – For more than 30 years, Bernice Sandler, the Godmother of Title IX, spent the last week of August hiking & canoeing with the Gatzke’s.
- Mike Gula went to Ace Hardware to exchange a gift and was happy to be waited on by Jon Ruggles. Mike was also happy to have a tree felling lesson from his son.
- Ken Moulton - The U.S. lost the tennis tournament to Canada. However, he won his singles match. Entrance into Canada took about 3 minutes, but the return to the U.S. was almost an hour.
- Peter Imse – The Freese Brother’s Big Band performed at Market Days to a large crowd. He later received a congratulatory phone call from someone at CCA suggesting a Big Band concert.
- Dean Cascadden shared his thoughts on gender equity and issues his wife has dealt with as a manager/leader. He is going to be home “unsupervised” for 3 days. A final word was that July 1st starts the countdown of his “farewell year sweep”.
- Mike Fortier – Raved about the beautiful beaches on the Turks & Caicos.
- Jon Ruggles – Loves part time job at Ace Hardware. He commented on how polite Mike Gula’s son was.
- Steve DeStefano – Wife has a new knee. He’ll never forget how she “kicked his butt” in racquetball in 1983 shortly after they met.
- David Gazaway – Thankful that he did not hit a mother bear or her bear cub near the Old Town Hall.

What needs change? Are we on the right track? What are our priorities? Are any adjustments needed?
Some of the positives include – great international service, great speakers, wonderful Interact & EarlyAct programs.
Membership goal is 60 active members. We currently have 37 active members.
Comments from members include:
Mike Griffin - “We had 60 – 65 members 16 years ago. I think that 50 should be our goal”.
Bill Ames – “Fifty is a good start”.
Matt Gatzke – “The need for active community projects / needs should be investigated”.
Jon Ruggles – “I like the idea of supporting local business for our breakfast needs”.
Peter Imse – There is a large number of new Americans who could use assistance with adjusting to our country”.
Ken Moulton questioned if there are any needs of the Dunbarton residents we could address.
Dean Cascadden responded that Dunbarton has a strong town structure.
Respectfully Submitted,
Linda Bliss
